Summary
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth’scharacters start with exclusive Jobs when they meet up with Ichiban. For example, Tomizawa is a Cabbie and most of his weapons are based around tools like various wrenches. These wrenches can only be equipped for the Cabbie Job and there is no way to promote cross-class gear even though there is a cross-class ability swap.
Most ofLike a Dragon: Infinite Wealth’sweapons can be bought at stores, and they can then be upgradedthrough Julie who runs a mechanics' shop. The only Job that doesn’t use weapons is Kazuma’s as his fists do the talking. Let’s focus on some early Jobs and equip them with the best gear that about $500 can buy.
8Blooming Maracas
36 Attack/44 Magic
The Blooming Maracas can be equipped for the Geodancer Job. It’s unlockable once players get to Alo-Happy agency, which operates like Hello Work fromYakuza: Like a Dragon. It’s a supportive class with debuff, buff, and healing skills, but there are offensive abilities too.
Now, the Blooming Maracas can be purchased at Manu Palekeiko, which is in the same mall as the Alo-Happy shop. Once purchased, players should upgrade them at Julie’s to the Full-Bloom Maracas, which adds Charm to the weapon and will turn enemies onto the player’s side temporarily.
7Deck Brush
38 Attack/42 Magic
The Deck Brush is a weapon for the Housekeeper Job, which needs to be unlocked and comes with a pretty funny cinematic. Chitose witnesses a little kid drop his lunch, followed by the most athletic janitor in the world cleaning it up.
The Deck Brush can be purchased at Manu Palekeiko, and upgrading it at Julie’s will transform the weapon into the Dirty Deck Brush. Besides a boost in stats, the Dirty Deck Brush adds the Cold element to attacks. It’s not as good as the paralysis effect in the game, but any sort of freezing ability in an RPG is welcomed, especially when enemies outnumberthe party whichLike a Dragon: Infinite Wealthsets at four.
6Wheel Wrench
40 Attack/40 Magic
The Wheel Wrench can be equipped for the Cabbie, Tomizawa’s starting Job. It’s a bit odd that all of his attacks and weapons fall more in line with a mechanic’s, but that point is moot. The Cabbie’s ability range reaches far and wide with tons of elemental and weapon types for damage, making it one of the better ones.
The Wheel Wrench will be Tomizawa’s best weapon during the early parts of the campaign, and it can be purchased at the Wink Mini Mart. Upgrading it to the Ignition Wrench at Julie’s will add fire damage and a chance to inflict the Burn effect on enemies.
5Ribbon Choker
42 Attack/38 Magic
The Ribbon Choker is for Chitose’s starting Job, Heiress, which is kind of like a yoga-based martial artist mixed with a backup dancer. As short and petite as Chitose is, it’s well-established early on that she can handle herself.
The Ribbon Choker can be bought at the luxurious Vincenti shop, and players should upgrade it to the Passion Ribbon Choker at Julie’s. While it doesn’t add an elemental effect, the upgrade introduces a chance that the player’s attack will get buffed. When activated, Chitose will have an aura around her limbs, kind of like she is powering up Ninjutsu moves fromtheNarutoanime.
4Amateur Board
The Amateur Board belongs to the Aquanaut Job within Alo-Happy, and it’s the only automatic one once the agency gets unlocked. Ichiban will get inspired after surfing with the gang to take his hobby onto the battlefield, and it might genuinely be one of the wildest Jobs/Classes in any RPG. Surfboards are naturally the weapons of choice for this Job, which players will undoubtedly see with enemies long before Alo-Happy.
The Amateur Board can be purchased at the Manu Palekeiko, and it can be upgraded to the Passion Surfboard. Like Chitose’s Passion Ribbon Choker, the Passion Surfboard can give characters a chance to boost their attacks upon striking enemies.
3Ice Axe
The Ice Axe is a weapon for the Pyrodancer Job, which unlocks after the gang attends a show of fire twirlers. Most weapons within this job are mini scythes or axes, which don’t make complete sense with fire twirlers as a real job, butInfinite Wealthisa weird RPG. The Ice Axe, despite the name, innately doesn’t come with an ice-based elemental effect.
However, if players upgrade it at Julie’s shop to the Magic Ice Axe, then they will get the benefit of ice powers. Also, like the Dirty Deck Brush, it can apply the Cold effect to enemies randomly.
2Metal Bat
The Metal Bat is a weapon for the Hero Job, Ichiban’s second innate Job after moving on from a Freelancer. Most of the Hero’s weapons are blunt-based, from bats to golf clubs. The Metal Bat can be bought at the Panthera Sports Kingdom along with a long list of sports-basedJobs unlocked later inLike a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
Players should upgrade it as soon as possible to get the mighty Barbed Wire Bat, a neutral-based weapon normally. While it doesn’t have a cool element attached like electricity or fire, this weapon can inflict enemies with Bleed, which damages them over time like the Poison effect.
1Japanese Oak Nunchaku
44 Attack/36 Magic
The Japanese Oak Nunchaku is a weapon for another cool Job inInfinite Wealth, Action Star. The default black and yellow costume looks straight out of a Bruce Lee martial arts movie. Whoever has it equipped will even make Bruce Lee-like noises as they attack with various martial arts weapons like nunchucks. The funniest one to do thiswith is Kazuma.
Now, the Japanese Oak Nunchaku can be bought at Manu Palekeiko, and it can then be upgraded to the superior Burning Nunchaku. It adds fire to attacks along with a chance to Burn enemies.
