TheModern Warfare 2campaign is an awesome continuation of the previousModern Warfaretitle.With returning charactersalongside some extravagant new ones, we enjoyed every second spent with the new 141 roster.

Alongside new characters comes a range of new guns, weapons, and utilities for us to take advantage of to get the job done. Although some of these are returning from the previousCall of Dutygames, it’s nice to see them in new environments with a brand-new feel, including changes to their design and recoil control.
9FTAC Recon (Battle Rifle)
The FTAC REcon becomes a fairly common weapon throughoutCall of Duty’s Campaign. Although players may find the commonality takes away from the value of the weapon, this gave players a good amount of time to learn how to effectively engage in combat with this battle rifle.
Effective at almost every range, the FTAC won’t let the player down even when the going gets tough. As such a versatile weapon, it’ll be interesting if it’s utilizedin the Warzone game mode, where no one can guarantee the range at which we may engage with an enemy squad or single target.
8Lockwood 300 (Shotgun)
The Lockwood (or variants of the Lockwood) can be found in multipleCall of Dutytitles, from the previousModern Warfaretitle to the original Black Ops series in the form of the Olympia.

This double-barreled shotgun will never get old from a gameplay perspective, making the player feel like they’re playing a ‘glass cannon’ role (high damage - high risk). The Lockwood can be found onmultiple missions throughout the gamebut isn’t always the best option for some encounters. However, have caution when pushing through tight corridors or infiltrating rooms; the small magazine/ammo capacity can become tricky at times.
7RPK (LMG)
The LMG will always be an iconic weapon in FPS games. With an almost endless magazine, the player can rain lead on their enemies for weeks! The RPK is a perfect example of this.
As a modification of the standard AK, with a longer barrel and extended magazine, the RPK still feels like the iconic weapon from the originalModern Warfareseries. If the player has found other LMGs that come as a part of their standard loadout, give this one a go.
The RPK can be found in abundance among fallen enemy troops.
6EBR 14 (Marksman Rifle)
The EBR 14 provides thefirepower of a sniperwith the versatility of a battle rifle. This high-power Marksman Rifle can be used in medium to long range to eliminate enemies in one shot. Paired with the variable scope, the player will have an easy time changing their engagement distance, making this one of the most adaptable weapons in the campaign.

In the second mission, “Kill or Capture,” Soap uses this weapon throughout the campaign for a range of engagements. It proves particularly useful at removing enemy snipers who have the squad pinned down in an open field.
5Desert Eagle .50 GS (Sidearm)
The Desert Eagle (Deagle) is an iconic weapon across multiple FPS games. With its high single-shot damage as a sidearm, the Deagle plays a similar role to a revolver allowing the player to one-shot most enemies at close range.
Some of us prefer the more of a “go at it loud” method; this one may spike some interest. As long as the player is accurate and doesn’t mind drawing attention to one’s self, the .50 GS can be found on multiple missions throughout the campaign. However, it’s advisable to leave it on the ground for the stealthier missions.
4Victus XMR (Sniper)
The mission “Recon by Fire” utilizes the Victus XMR’s high damage and range to take out enemies with stealth. Covered in netting and grass for this mission, the weapon looks awesome and really brings us back to the “All Ghillied Up” mission fromCall of Duty4 (the firstModern Warfare).

With a variable zoom scope, thermal imaging, andguidance from Captain Price, every player will love the Victus' deadly firepower.
3Riot Shield (Melee)
The Riot Shield has been absent from the last fewCall of Dutytitles but is making a return inModern Warfare 2. This can provide some awesome utility when the player feels outnumbered or the enemy is overwhelming their position. This is most prevalent in the “Prison Break” mission when the team is trying to escape prison with Alejandro.
With an abundance of prison guards, picking up one of the Riot shields can provide some cover, especially at higher difficulties.
2REV-G 80 (Grenade Launcher)
We all want to find the most “overpowered” weapon in theModern Warfare 2campaign… look no further. The REV-G 80 Grenade Launcher provides some insanely explosive firepower paired with deadly accuracy at close to medium range.

This weapon can be found in a few missions, but most notably in “Violence and Timing” and “Prison Break.” The GL can be used to take out large groups ofarmored enemy troops(or vehicles) and is essential at higher difficulties as it provides the player with opportunities to stay in cover whilst taking out some more tricky enemies.
It’s probably good the developers limited the use of this weapon as it is so powerful compared to the rest of the arsenal.
1Fennec 45 (SMG)
The final weapon on this list is the Fennec 45 (also known as the Vector). This high fire-rate submachine gun provides deadly firepower at close range; it’s hard to beat this weapon’s killing potential (TTK). This weapon is scarce in the campaign, with the player only able to use it a handful of times. The mission “Dark Water” gives the player the opportunity to see this weapon excel, as most of these encounters are very close range.
The Fennec excels when paired with a Sniper or Marksman Rifle, as this gives the player the ability to engage at any range.
