BattleBit: Remastered Isle

Fortunately,BattleBitfeatures 19 maps at the time of writing, all of which have their own unique landmarks, chokepoints, terrain, and environments. Although every map has something to offer, some makeBattleBit’sgameplay shine brighter than others.

10Isle

This map is great for its broad and open terrain, which makes it great forfans of the Recon class, but the sparse cover also makes it a pain to traverse. Breaking up the open, snowy plains are several large open buildings, facilitating frantic shootouts that break up the long stretches of running back and forth across the map.

Although there are several trees and bushes dotted around, Isle’s laborious terrain makes it a much less desirable map for players who enjoy the moreinfantry-focused classes, and the combat situations that come from more dense terrain; a lot of Isle’s combat takes place in the open. This, coupled with the fact that the main spawn area for both teams is an aircraft carrier that requires long boat trips to reach the shore, makes Isle one of the least exciting maps.

BattleBit: Remastered Azagor

9Azagor

This sandy map features short stretches of open desert interspersed by dense construction areas packed with small points of cover and partially constructed buildings that create interesting and unpredictable combat scenariosfor all kinds of weapons.

The areas that connect Azagor’s relatively close objectives cover mostly flat terrain that features small groups of buildings, bridges, and narrow trenches that often act as bottlenecks, creating classic back-and-forth tug-of-war situations. Azagor is a fairly balanced and varied map, though what it offers, both visually and in its gameplay, is relatively bland in comparison to other maps.

BattleBit: Remastered Dusty Dew

8Dusty Dew

Although Dusty Dew’s open environment often facilitates long-range engagements, the dense forest that covers it makes combat flitting. However, players will often find themselves in shootouts among the bushes and trees, where firefights often last longer than on most maps. This unique balance of open range and dense forest makes Dusty Dew good fun for both snipers and fans of medium to close-range combat.

Dusty Dew is also scattered with small settlements that break up the open range of its environment, offering chaotic, dense bursts of combat that offer a break from the tense gameplay that the rest of the map has.

BattleBit: Remastered Valley

7Valley

This map centers around a nuclear power plant (which itself, like near-all ofBattleBit Remastered’senvironment, is destructible) with roads circling it, broken up by small pockets of buildings and dotted with impressive wind turbines that are a sight to behold when they come crashing down from the odd explosion.

Hills surround Valley, offering spots for snipers and those with longer-range weapons, but due to the fact that these hills aren’t too far from the main areas of the map, they are often home to hectic close-range combat that can foil good sniping spots. Valley’s landmark nuclear power plant offers a point of interest for players to contest, and center themselves, making it hard to get lost. Furthermore, despite Valley’s often dense environment, its open hills and clear roads make iteasy for players to make use of vehicles.

BattleBit: Remastered Basra

6Basra

This archipelago (the map features several islands broken up by both deep and shallow waters) centers around a grounded container ship that acts as a landmark and point of contest for players, creating almost constant chaotic close-quarters combat that keeps the game’s pace moving.

Basra features two main islands, the north featuring a military base, and the south featuring a resort and airport. Both islands offer their own unique terrain that in combination with the chaotic center of the map, creates plenty of varied gameplay. Basra’s open areas and close-quarter constructions make it fun for players with all kinds of playstyles and strategies and has just enough open terrain to make vehicles viable as well.

BattleBit: Remastered Salhan

5Salhan

One ofBattleBit Remastered’smany sand-filled maps, Salhan stands out with its short, narrow, and traversable cliffs that provide great but vulnerable vantage points for snipers and medium-range users alike. These cliff edges surround small, dense settlements often surrounded by tall trees that provide relief from the snipers, and the map generally promotes close-quarters combat and infantry battles.

Salhan doesn’t feature any heavy vehicles, which further facilitates large infantry battles in the valley along with its oil refinery, small town, and wide, shallow canyons. Overall, Salhan provides a very focused, action-packed experience broken up by small stretches of open land and the occasional vantage point for snipers, though it isn’t the best map for fans of the Recon class.

4Tensatown

Green countryside and suburban neighborhoods dominate Tensatown’s environment, its low buildings provide unreliable cover and its narrow streets allow for medium-range, back-and-forth firefights that create long and drawn-out combat scenarios that morph into chaotic close-quarters panic as more players fill the space. Players will often hunker down in opposite buildings, with firefights often taking place through windows.

Tensatown is one ofBattleBit Remastered’smost dense maps, packed with buildings separated by bushes and connected by winding roads. This map is also one ofBattleBit Remastered’smost visually pleasing(despite its very minimal graphics) with its heavy greenery and expanse of colorful flowers.

3Frugis

The dense, European-influenced, city streets of Frugis provide some of the most action-packed, chaotic, and tactical gameplay inBattleBit Remastered. This map is packed with tall buildings painted with windows that look down on the winding, dense streets. These buildings often have multiple levels, and lead to tactical sweeps of the buildings as players contest them.

Due to the sheer amount of buildings, windows, and generally dense environment, Frugis promotes careful and tactical gameplay, forcing players to pay attention or risk losing their lives very quickly. The multi-floored buildings and winding streets also emphasize flanking as a strategy, further encouraging tactical gameplay and teamwork. Furthermore, Frugis features an extensive underground subway system that runs underneath the map, connecting various objectives and inspiring even more tactical decisions and strategies. This subway system also gives even more verticality to the map and allows a break from the window-sniping above ground.

2Wakistan

This map’s design is actually inspired by Tebulosmta, a mountain in Georgia, and takes place in an expansive, wide valley, with objectives that are connected by lengthy bridges and surrounded by cliffs.

Wakistan’s bridges are integral to its design, and the center of its frantic gameplay, the bridges, are often covered by snipers on either end. This leads to situations where large throngs of players barrel down either side, taking cover behind the various civilian cars and engaging in close-quarters firefights amida plethora of smoke grenades. The common push toward objectives along Wakistan’s bridges provides some of the most chaotic and immersive gameplay in the game and alsogives snipers plenty of opportunity to flex their skills.

1Sandy Sunset

Arguably the most fun, balanced, and varied ofBattleBit’smaps, Sandy Sunset manages to be open and expansive while concentrating its action at the same time. The map features open desert hills populated with plenty of dunes and canyons that circle a large crowded town at the center. This town surrounds a single, major road that allows for vehicles, making the action in the town tense and explosive.

The streets of Sandy Sunset’s town are rife with all ranges of firefights and provide a great main point of struggle for players to fight around. The dunes, hills, and rocky areas of the desert that surround the town are often packed with snipers battling it out across various long ridges that provide great vantage points over the desert, but the open and unbroken spaces also allow vehicles to carry troops across to safety. Overall, Sandy Sunset facilitates all kinds of playstyles, strategies, and tactical gameplay that thrive in the game’s Frontline mode.
