League Of Legends Meets Stardew Valley in Bandle Tale

Developed by Lazy Bear Games,Bandle Tale: A League Of Legends Storyis a crafting RPG set in Bandle City. The protagonist will be a Yordle from Yarnville, a knitting-obsessed island, who journeys to the city after finishing a century-long apprenticeship. They will then be tasked to help restore the portals within Bandle City using their knitting magic and with the help of some familiar friends, likeTeemo, Tristana, Yuumi, and more.

Bandle Talewill have some farming sim elements that were reminiscent ofStardew Valley.Lazy Bear Games had previously worked on titles with similar mechanics, such asGraveyard KeeperandBloomtown: A Different Story, which excited many gamers. The trailer showed the protagonist tending to their crops and gathering resources that they could use for cooking and building structures and gadgets. Players will also be able to throw parties and festivals to entertain their Yordle neighbors. It’s still unknown whether players can build friendships inBandle Talejust like inStardew Valley,as it seems focused on the restoration of the Bandle City portals.

InLeague Of Legendslore,Yordleswere described as a race of spirits that take the appearance of mammalian bipeds. They’re generally known for their unique and oftentimes adorable design that could be likened to a rodent. This fact alone makes them the perfect candidates for aStardew Valley-like game. Plus, it’s a creative way to getLeaguefans to dive into a bit of Yordle lore.

Riot Forge has done a great job of working with studios to develop games of different genres based onLeague of Legendslore. For instance,The Mageseekerwas an action roguelike centered on Sylas, whileConvergencestarringEkkowas an action platformer that was likened toCastlevania. In hindsight, it was only a matter of time until Riot Forge explored the idea of a wholesome farming sim set in the whimsical Bandle City. Not only that, butBandle Taleplayers will be able to explore five other Yordle worlds once they’ve fixed the portals within the city.

The popularity ofStardew Valleyand other farming sims like it is rooted on its overall relaxing vibes. Generally known as “cozy games,” they allow players to sit back while taking care of their farms. Many developers have also found unique ways to differentiate themselves fromStardew Valley. For example, upcoming mystery farming simGrave Seasonschanged up the romance mechanicby adding a serial killer who’s terrorizing the town. WithBandle Tale, Lazy Bear Games has an opportunity to either introduce new farming and relationship-building mechanics, or simply make its story as compelling as possible to keep players hooked. It would be a huge plus if the studio manages to pull off both.

Bandle Talewon’t come out until next year, but the game already has over 1,000 followers on Steam, which might continue to increase in the next few weeks or months. If the success of pastLeague Of Legendsgames is any indication, then perhapsBandle Talehas a chance to be a positively received game in the future.

Bandle Tale: A League Of Legends Storywill be available on PC and Switch in 2024.
