The gaming industry is in a strange place right now due to the on-going coronavirus pandemic. Typically, fans would be looking to new big game reveals at E3 this summer, butE3 2020 is cancelednow. One of those is typically the newAssassin’s Creedgame, and so its reveal date has likely been shifted behind closed doors.

As many insiders have pointed out, the reveals are likely to be more widespread now. Some will come later, some will come sooner, and some will still take place during “E3 week.” At least one title that is going to be revealed soon isAssassin’s Creed, and a reputable industry insider hints that this is set.

On Twitter, Shinobi602 was asked if he knew when the reveal was coming, to which he answered “yes.” This answer thereby suggests that the reveal date is set, as while Shinobi has previously hinted that theAssassin’s Creedreveal would be soon, this is a legitimate “when” answer. Of course, Shinobi doesn’t reveal when that is but continues with a .GIF suggesting that it is indeed very soon.

This is notable for quite a few reasons. WithAssassin’s Creedaside, there have been several rumors ofXbox Series Xand PS5 events taking place throughout May. The biggest date being pushed is May 5th which would fall in the soon category. On the other hand, there is more event that seems as likely, if not more so, and that’s the upcoming Stadia Connect.

On April 28, thisStadia Connect event is set to reveal new gamesfor the platform. Much like other showcases, there will likely be a handful of first-party games revealed while other third-party games are also shown for the first time. And consideringAssassin’s Creed Odysseywas basically the flagship of the platform when Stadia launched, it would make sense thatAssassin’s Creed 2020will also be available on Stadia and could be revealed there.

Either way, it is soon and that alone may excite many fans. As to what to expect, rumors and high-profile corroborations indicate that it is based on vikings, with many fans pushing theAssassin’s Creed Ragnaroktitle. However, the latest and likely most believable rumor thus far indicates that’s not the case, while also detailing some information onAssassin’s Creed2020’s protagonists, weapons, and more.
