Reddit user KosukeSukeP has designed weapons inspired by Pokemon such as Applin, one of thenew Pokemon featured inScarlet and Violet. The artist developed an axe based on Appletun, and Flapple got a rapier with the Pokemon as part of the grip. Sableye and Mega Sableye received swords with a gothic look due to the purple colors, and the stones in the center referencing the two Pokemon forms. Moving away from sword designs, Gligar and Gliscor have inspired two different bow types, both colorful and eye-catching. The sword based on Jirachi has a design that could belong to a gaming heroine like Princess Zelda or Peach.
Fans on thePokemonsubreddit made many positive comments about KosukeSukeP’s fan art, whose complete list also includes weapon designs for Skarmory, Aegislash, and the evolutionary lines of Salandit, Sobble, and Magnemite. Answering one of the Reddit users, the artist revealed that they were inspired byDragon Questweapons to create the “Poke-weapons.” For the rendering style, they opted for something more realistic, along the lines ofMonster Hunter. This isn’t the first time aPokemonfan has referenced the Capcom franchise, as previous fan art hascombinedPokemonandMonster Hunterwith a striking result.
While Game Freak isn’t venturing into a game with weapons based on Pokemon, the new DLC forPokemon Scarlet and Violetis expanding the number of creatures that fans can encounter. Among those already available in the game is Rotom, aPokemon that takes on different forms. Although these aren’t weapons, they follow an equally creative concept by reimagining Pokemon as several household utensils.
