After all, it’s used in a variety of essential items and is something every player will need to make. Luckily it’s not too challenging to gather the ingredients and craft, meaning it’s both a useful item and a beginner-friendly recipe to explore. Here’s how to make Cementing Paste inArk: Survival Evolved.

What Cementing Paste Is Used For

Cementing Paste is a resource that is predominantlyused for crafting. It’s mainly used for crafting later game items like Muskets or Water Fountains. However, it’s one of those items players rarely seem to have a readily available stack for when they need it.

Due to its rarity and how important it is in the later game, many players will end up using it as a trade for animals, land, or other elements their tribe needs. This is why it’s so useful to have a supply in the base at all times to either craft or trade for a valuable item.

The Ingredients

Interestingly, despite this being a rather frustrating item to make, it has few ingredients and for the most part, those ingredients aren’t necessarily hard to get. Although that mainly depends on the location players find themselves in and how happy they are wiping out a few creatures to get certain elements. To make Cementing Paste players will need a Mortar and Pestle or a Chemistry Bench and the following ingredients:

It’s worth noting that the player can mix and match the Chitin, Shell Fragments, or Keratin if they have enough to make eight in total.

Chitin and Stone

How To Get The Ingredients

Stone

The stone is by far the easiest element of this recipe and players should already be adept in getting hold of this resource, primarily due to how vital it is throughout the game.

Nevertheless, simply bring out the Hatchet and start using it against a mineable rock. It would make sense to think players would get the most reward out of a Pickaxe but in Ark: Survival Evolved, the most efficient way to collect Stone is by using a Hatchet.

Chitin

Chitin is a dangerous item to get hold of. It requires killing some rather tough enemies with some strong tamed creatures and is not an item that is particularly beginner-friendly. Nevertheless, to get the most Chitin out of the enemy, tame these animals:

Once one of these animals has been tamed simply set them on some Triobites whenever players see them and they should be okay. This will produce Chitin but will be relatively slow. Increasing thetamed creatures' melee attack will speed this process up.

Shell Fragments

Shell Fragments are unavailable if the player is using their mobile or Switch due to itbeing a resourceintroduced in the Genesis: Part 1 DLC. However, if players are using any other version of Ark: Survival Evolved then they will probably need to begin by making a Megachelon farm.

Players can get the Shell Fragments by harvesting them from the Megachelon so there must be a ready supply. Luckily, when this creature is harvested players will get a vast amount of these Shell Fragments, which can either be used for the Cementing Paste recipe or turned into Chitin if desired.

Keratin

Keratin is often the resource seen in hooves, scale, and other elements of most reptiles and it can be gathered in the same way as Chitin. Players will find Keratin inthe following Dinosaursonce they have been harvested:

Simply use powerful tamed creatures or a metal hatchet to kill these animals and players should start getting a decent supply of Keratin. In a similar way to Shell Fragments, it’s worth choosing one of these creatures and making a livestock farm if players want a lot of this resource.

A Beelzebufo

Natural Ways To Get Cementing Paste

Thankfully, Cementing Paste can be found without needing to grind through many different creatures.

The first is to tame aBeelzebufoand get it to eat smaller insects like aTitanomyrmaor aMeganeura. The Beelzebufo will chew them up and create a cementing paste as a byproduct.

Mortar and Pestle

Alternatively, players can tame anAchatinawho will create Achatine Paste every minute. This can be used as Cementing Paste but it can be a challenge to tame a creature like the Achatina.

Lastly, players could always raid aGiant Beaver Damwhich is dangerous but they will get a vast amount of Cementing Paste if successful.

How To Make Cementing Paste

While finding Chitin, Shell Fragments, or Keratin is known to be quite the challenge, players only really need to worry about the gathering stage since actually crafting Cementing Paste in thisopen-world survival gameis relatively simple.

All players will need to do is grab their ingredients and place them into either a Mortar and Pestle or a Chemistry Bench and click “Craft” on the Cementing Paste. It shouldn’t take too long to craft and will then allow the player to do what they like with it.
