Another fan ofDestiny 2was met with a shock recently when they logged onto the game to find one of their characters missing, which they believe has happened as a result of the infamous character deletion bug that was recently discovered after a different player had one of their characters mysteriously deleted. While there always seems to be a strange new bug affecting players inDestiny 2, this one would be a particularly awful one for fans to experience.

This new instance isn’tthe first time theDestiny 2community’s attention has been drawn to such an issue, as only a few days ago a player named CyanSolar found their Titan to be randomly deleted from the character list after they experienced connection issues. Luckily, thanks to the help of Bungie’s Community Manager Liana Ruppert, along with the combined efforts of several teams of developers, the player was able to get their character returned to them within a couple of days. Although Bungie stated that it’s confident that the case was nothing more than a one-time, isolated incident, one more recent claim from a separate player suggests that this may not be the case.

The user Zzephiris posted on both Reddit and Twitter with regard to one of their characters, a Warlock, being absent from the character list after they logged on. It should be made clear, however, that the user’s claim has little in the way of evidence to back it up, with the user’s DungeonReport profile being set to private and raising some skepticism among some fans due to it preventing them from verifying the player’s character history. That said though,Bungie Community Manager Liana Ruppert did respond to the poston Twitter, claiming that the team is aware of the issue but will likely not be able to currently do much due to the studio being closed for the weekend.

If the claim turns out to be honest though, then it’s entirely possible that the problem is more than an isolated incident, with many fans worried that they too could be affected by such a glitch. Though they might not have gained as much traction, there are several other posts from members of theDestiny 2community which claim that they have experienced similar issues too. While it seems impossible to quantify how many people might have had characters lost due to the bug, many speculate that it could result fromaccounts being connected to Stadiasomehow, as Zzephiris' did say that their account was linked to the service.

Whatever the case,Bungie’s Community Manager has urged fansnot to make too many assumptions at this point, although that hasn’t stopped many players from choosing to stop playing the game altogether for now out of fear that their characters could become lost. Many players are waiting for a better response from Bungie, requesting that it investigates the problem more thoroughly.
