Fans of the publisher now know that a 505 Games showcase is around the corner, meaning any number of notable games could get sequels or expansions revealed soon. Remedy Entertainment’sControlbelongs to this list of possible fruit-bearing franchises.Controlreleased nearly three years ago, meaning the time is right for Remedy to reveal its sequel.
Fans have had reason to expect aControl 2reveal for some time, since Remedy has stated that it’s working ontwo new games in theControluniverse, but so far, information has been scarce since both games were in early development at the time. However, a lot of time has passed since then, and although theControlsequel may not be ready to release just yet, Remedy could at least reveal it to fans. While their means of announcement implied that theControlgames are far from completion, Remedy Entertainment could still offer fans a taste of what’s to come at the 505 Games showcase. A gameplay reveal probably isn’t on the cards just yet, but fans could still get treated to a cinematicControl 2trailer that provides some information about the game’s story, new characters, abilities that Jesse will gain, and so on. Even a short teaser trailer with a hint of a release window would be enough to excite fans;Alan Wake 2achieved as muchwith its own cryptic announcement trailer.
505 Games definitely has good reason to includeControl 2in the showcase if possible. It may already be connected to a lot of successful games, buttheControlfranchise is blossoming right now, thanks to its extremely strong reception and growing connections toAlan Wake.505 has found an excellent new partner in Remedy, and it would be wise to tout that partnership by giving center stage to whateverControlcontent Remedy has prepared. Enthusiastic support from 505 Games is crucial to ensuringControl’s rapid expansion pays off.

Control’s Development Status
If fans get lucky, the showcase could include two reveals: one for theControlsequel, and one for the multiplayerControlspinoff. This seems a little unlikely, of course, given how busy Remedy Entertainment is right now. Aside fromControlandAlanWake,it has alsopicked theMax Paynefranchise back up, meaning it has a lot on its plate. Maybe Remedy’s recentMax Payneannouncement is a sign thatControl 2is already making good progress, however, since Remedy can spare resources for twoMax Payneremakes. Remedy should be careful not to spread itself too thin; hopefully its willingness to take on so many projects is based on careful planning rather than pure ambition.
